The lake District was home to Beatrix Potter the famous novelist her properties are located near to Windermere and now operated by the National Trust and open to the public.Both properties open for the 2008 season on Saturday 15 March, closing for the winter on Sunday 2 November.

Also to take in the wonderfull sites of the Lake District we can announce the Hill Top walk - Beatrix Potter Country Walk - 30th May and 20th June 2008 10.30am - 1pm visit one of Beatrix Potter's favourite places in the company of National Trust staff. Discover some of the scenes which inspired her tales and find out more about her life as a farmer landowner and conservationist.
