| Lake Windermere users still have time to make their voices heard on how the lake should be run.Hundreds of people have already responded with their views on the lake’s by-laws, since the consultation was launched in February, the consultation will run to the end of May 16.
The review is being undertaken to tidy up the complex rules and regulations that govern exactly what is and what is not permitted by people and boats using the 10.5-mile stretch of water.
The Lake District National Park Authority hopes the review will; produce an updated version of the by-laws to include all the amendments made piecemeal over recent years; bring back some by-laws removed when the 10mph speed limit was introduced in March 2005; and make alterations and additions to the existing by-laws.
The 10mph speed limit itself will not form part of the review as LDNPA members voted unanimously last year to endorse that regulation |
