Each year the army assist in helping repair the Footpaths that have been eroded from fell walkers, the paths have been damaged due to the number of tourist who have enjoyed the beautiful scenery and walks that the lake District has to offer.For the last 15 years the army have offered this service to the people of the Lake District with the help of a number of helicopters they can move large stones quickly to repair the walks.
